Some say that when this Gucci debuted this handbag in the 1950s, it was originally known as the Fifties Constance. According to other reports, the leather hobo bag was named the G1233 and premiered in 1961. Whichever one it was, this leather handbag also had another purpose; after Jackie Kennedy used it to shield herself from the paparazzi in the 1970s, it drew a connection between her and the bag that spurred Italian fashion house to rename it the Gucci Jackie. Very similar in style to the Hermès Trim, the bag takes the same cues, resulting in what some say is the original hobo bag. Tom Ford rereleased this bag during his helm at Gucci, and more recently, current creative director Alessandro Michele reissued it for Fall 2020. (Vogue Italia)
