By The Rebag Team, Feb. 18, 2022
NYFW Made Numerous Waves for Fall/Winter 2022.
With Omicron looking further behind us, New York Fashion Week sauntered on from February 11 to 16 for Fall/Winter 2022 with a series of star-studded stylish happenings that included a number of Euphoria cast members, Julia Fox, and the return of an icon.
Julia Fox Flaunts Her Stuff at LaQuan Smith
Fresh from her breakup with Kanye West, yet still the talk of the town, actress and downtown It girl Julia Fox lit up fashion week by opening LaQuan Smith’s show on Valentine’s Day. Revenge could never be so sweet as Fox walking down the runway in that revealing cut-out dress. (Udo Salters/Patrick McMullan via Getty Images)
Eckhaus Latta Celebrates 10 Years
Mike Eckhaus and Zoe Latta celebrated the 10th anniversary of art-world favorite Eckhaus Latta with a runway show at the former Essex Market that saw editors sitting between grocery aisles, a live soundtrack by Brian Chippendale and Doss, and recent And Just Like That… actress Hari Nef walking down the runway. Puppets and Puppets’s Cheeky Designs Continue to Delight
Puppets and Puppets’s following continues to grow as designer Carly Mark merges art and fashion with a healthy dose of irreverence. Here Richie Shazam — one of Julia Fox’s lucky friends who got a Birkin from Kanye West — walks down the runway on February 13 in a grey jacket that echoes artist Yves Klein’s 1960s Anthropometries series. NYFW Does Away With the Model Standard
As times change, so does the basic look of NYFW’s runway models. What was predominantly white and stick-thin now comes in all shapes, colors, and sizes, with striking women like Paloma Elsesser — who walked in numerous shows including Eckhaus Latta (pictured here), Michael Kors, Gabriela Hearst, and Brandon Maxwell — earning supermodel status. Beverly Johnson Walks Bibhu Mohapatra Fall/Winter 2022
In 1974, Beverly Johnson made history as the first Black model on the cover of American Vogue. She made waves the following year by being the first Black model to be on the front of Elle.
