The Handbags of
And Just Like That…
By Isabelle E, Feb 4, 2022
Season one of And Just Like That… may be over…
…but we’ll be thinking about the fashion for more than a New York minute. HBO Max’s reboot of the iconic series Sex and the City has wrapped up its first season. Much like the original series, And Just Like That… was packed full of drama from death to divorce, but at Rebag, we’re much more interested in the handbags that stole the spotlight.
Over 20 years later, HBO finally answered our prayers by bringing back our favorite fashion icons. Although much has changed in the lives of Carrie, Charlotte, and Miranda, one thing remains true — their style is still among the best on television. This is especially true of their handbag choices in the reboot. From Dior to Fendi, the handbags of And Just Like That… did not disappoint. Scroll through our recap below to see what we mean.
The Fendi Baguette

There is no Carrie Bradshaw without a cosmopolitan close by and a Fendi Baguette in tow. And Just Like That… featured Ms. Bradshaw’s favorite accessory in a fabulous sequined purple, reminiscent of the one she was robbed of in season 3 of Sex and the City when Carrie exclaimed those famous words, “It’s not a bag, it’s a baguette.” Over two decades later, we’re glad to see Carrie reunited with her stylish and loyal companion several times throughout the season. Sarah Jessica Parker, the actress who plays Carrie, is even doing a Baguette collaboration with Fendi.

Because the more Baguettes the better, Carrie also sports a miniature version of the Fendi favorite in episode seven. A nod to the classic with a micro twist, we can’t help but applaud the costume designers for this impeccable choice.
The Gucci & Balenciaga Hacker Project Hourglass

While we love a nod to Carrie’s SATC style, we were also pretty thrilled to see her sporting something currently trending — the Gucci & Balenciaga Hacker Project Hourglass bag. This limited edition Hourglass covered in Gucci’s double G logo sold out in the blink of an eye and is already nearly impossible to find on the resale market, so it’s only fitting that Carrie, being the fashion icon that she is, was able to secure one for herself.
The Lady Dior

We said it once, and we’ll say it again — pairing Charlotte York with a Lady Dior is a match made in handbag heaven. It makes perfect sense why Charlotte would frequently sport this iconic handbag. After all, it’s a favorite of many influential ladies, from Blair Waldorf to Rihanna.
The Christian Dior Bobby

Sticking with what we think is her favorite designer, Charlotte effortlessly toted another Christian Dior piece. This time it was something a bit more current — the Bobby. Although it was only released in the fall of 2020, we think the Bobby has staying power and will remain a staple for the brand. How could it not with Charlotte’s stamp of approval?

Another pair that makes perfect sense to us is Charlotte and the Louis Vuitton Capucines. The Capucines is a newer classic for the brand, but Charlotte loved it so much that she wore the bag (in two different sizes) not once but twice this season.
The Chanel Quilted Clutch with Pearl Strap

Because much like Carrie and Cosmos, Charlotte and pearls are pretty synonymous. Instead of around her neck, the pearls are attached to her eyecatching Chanel bag. This playful take on a classic is much like Charlotte — sophisticated and fun.
The Loewe Balloon Bucket Bag

Miranda went through many changes in just ten episodes of the reboot, and whether or not you agreed with her storyline, we won’t get into that because our eyes were on her changing style choices. We have to say we loved the updates to Miranda’s wardrobe, especially when she wore this Loewe bag. It’s structured yet playful, which could possibly be a nod to Miranda’s character arc this season.
The Valentino Roman Stud

One of the best parts of And Just Like That… was the addition of new characters like Seema Patel. Seema quickly became a bestie of Carrie’s in this reboot, and we see why. Seema (much like Carrie) has incredible style, as you can clearly tell by her Valentino Roman Stud bag that she carries ever so well. We’re hoping for a season two so that we can see more of Seema’s handbag moments.
The Louis Vuitton Coussin

Lisa Todd Wexley is another new addition to the group, and in keeping with tradition, she also has her accessory game down pat. Dare we say she might have the best fashion moments on the series? Just take a look at her with the Louis Vuitton Coussin bag — perfection!

Staying on-trend, Lisa’s fashion choices only get better, especially when she showed off this light blue Bottega Veneta Padded Cassette.
