The Things You Missed at
Milan Fashion Week
By The Rebag Team, Feb. 28, 2022
Milan Fashion Week mixed tailoring with innovation.
The fashion crowd continued to Milan from February 22 to 28 for a week of style that included Bottega Veneta’s return to the city, a Gucci x Adidas collaboration, and of course — Julia Fox!
Bottega Veneta Is Back — With a New Designer
Matthieu Blazy brought the Bottega Veneta Fall/Winter 2022 collection back to its hometown to mark his debut as the brand’s creative director. Several innovative iterations of the house’s signature Intrecciato weave and Italian tailoring proved that Blazy is off to a strong start. (Miguel Medina/AFP via Getty Images)
Gucci Unveils Its Adidas Collaboration
Gucci is no stranger to collaborations; it has collaborated with The North Face, Disney, and Balenciaga (yes, we know they don’t call it a collaboration). This season introduced a new partnership with German athletic brand Adidas. We know we’ll be seeing a lot of three-striped Gucci next season. (Estrop/Getty Images)
Rihanna’s Pregnant Style
Leave it to Rihanna to redefine the idea of pregnant dressing. After revealing her pregnancy with partner A$AP Rocky in Chanel, the powerhouse keeps topping herself — here she’s at the Gucci show — with sexy, belly-baring looks that highlight just how beautiful it is to experience carrying a child. Kim Jones Looks Into Silvia Venturini Fendi’s closet for Inspiration
Fendi artistic director Kim Jones found inspiration in Fendi scion Delfina Delettrez as she walked in the fashion house’s headquarters in a geometric print shirt she borrowed from her mother, Silvia Venturini Fendi. Turns out the Memphis (the design movement, not the city) movement-inspired graphics were from the late Karl Lagerfeld’s Spring/Summer 1986 Fendi collection. (Victor Boyko/Getty Images)
The Ferragnez Step Out
Milan-based content creator and businesswoman Chiara Ferragni and Italian rapper Fedez make an impact in more ways than one; both are legendary in their respective fields, they helped raise Covid-prevention awareness across Italy, and their hilarious Amazon reality show The Ferragnez displays their human side by attempting to normalize couples’ therapy. The Ferragnez were all over Milan Fashion Week. Here, the couple step out at the Versace show. (Daniele Venturelli/WireImage)
Diesel’s Sci-Fi Fantasy
Diesel creative director Glenn Martens imagined a Sci-Fi fantasy for the label’s Fall/Winter 2022 show, complete with a larger-than-life set composed of giant inflatable people, sustainable methods of production, and by parading out models coated in an array of various colors. (Estrop/Getty Images)
Moschino’s Surrealist Escapism
With Russia going to war against Ukraine and the news about the increasing decline of the environment, we could all use an escape. Moschino creative director Jeremy Scott provided just that by digging through the house’s archives. He discovered that Franco Moschino used silverware brooches and faucet handles as accents in 1989 and 1990, so he took a cue through looks that looked like lamps, a grandfather clock, and a harp. Julia Fox Saunters On
Kanye who? Julia Fox continues to make a stylish splash after her breakup with Kanye West. Here she is at the Versace show in a full latex look and dramatic black eye makeup. (Daniele Venturelli/WireImage)
Kim Kardashian Supports Kendall Jenner at Prada
Speaking of Kanye exes, Kim Kardashian also made several appearances at Milan Fashion Week. Here, she poses at the Prada show, where she cheered on her sister Kendall Jenner, who walked in a striking red hairdo. (Vittorio Zunino Celotto/Getty Images for Prada)
