Two Brands are  Better Than One

Collaborations are excellent investments because of their high demand and limited supply. The  most sought-after partnerships yield a high return on investment, with the majority averaging  a value retention of over 100%.

The Hacker Project

Gucci and Balenciaga may not want you to call it a collaboration, but The Hacker Project collection is a secondary market star, outperforming Balenciaga's other styles according to Clair data. The dual logo-adorned pieces of particular note are the The Hacker Project Duffle Bag and Tote, retaining 98% and 121% of retail value at resale.

Telfar Collaborations

Telfar collaborations with Ugg, Eastpak, and Moose Knuckles are also resale winners,  retaining an average of 148% to 211% of their original price on the secondary market.

Louis Vuitton x NBA

Virgil Abloh combined the French craftsmanship and American sports and created the LV x NBA collection. The widely popular designs has lead  to two other collaborations between Louis  Vuitton and the NBA. The LV x NBA Cloakroom Dopp Kit has an average retention value of  145% on the resale market.

Daniel Arsham  and Kim Jones

Artist Daniel Arsham and Kim Jones, artistic director of Dior Men, collaborated for the Spring/Summer 2020. The Dior Daniel Arsham Double Zip Crossbody Pouch has an average retention value of 139% on the resale market.

Louis Vuitton x Nigo

Louis Vuitton dropped two collaborations with NIGO. Designed by friends Virgil Abloh and Nigo, the first collaboration was so successful they decided to showcased another collaboration at the Louis Vuitton Pre-Spring 2022 collection. The Louis Vuitton Nigo Tote has an average retention value of 115% on the resale market.

Fendace

When two Italian power houses join forces,  you get Fendace. Fendi and Versace showcased the Fendace Collection at Milan Fashion  week back in 2021. The golden and sparkly Fendace Baguette is an all time favorite  retaining 99% of retail value at resale.

Dior x Shawn Stüssy

Dior Men artistic director Kim Jones collaborated with artist Shawn Stüssy back in 2019 – creating the Dior Stüssy Fall 2020 Collection. The Dior x Shawn Stüssy Saddle Crossbody bag has an average retention value  of 98% on the resale market.

Gucci x Disney

In 2020, in celebration of the Lunar New Year,  and to commemorate the year of the mouse/rat, Gucci released a Mickey Mouse collection.  The Disney Mickey Mouse Backpack retains  a 96% of retail value at resale.
