TIFFANY & CO.
Elsa Peretti was an Italian socialite, model, and muse to Halston. She was also a brilliant jewelry designer who designed pieces for Tiffany & Co. for five decades, until her death in 2021.
After an introduction by Halston, Tiffany & Co. hired Peretti. Her designs would later make up 10 percent of its annual sales.
Peretti brought a fresh breath of air to Tiffany & Co. with her use of silver, which returned the metal to Tiffany & Co. after a 25 year hiatus.
"You need to be able to go out on the street with your jewelry, women can’t go around wearing $1 million.”
In 2019 Tiffany & Co. estimated that her designs were sold once every minute in its stores around the globe. The Open Heart pieces sold once every three minutes.
Kate Middleton wore one of her beautiful necklaces in her 2010 engagement photos (seen above).
Celebrities love Elsa Peretti. Margot Robbie (pictured above), Rihanna, Angelina Jolie, and Gwyneth Paltrow have all been spotted wearing her pieces.
Elsa Peretti collection is popular on the resale market, as they are relatively affordable price points for fine jewelry and there are so many styles that cater to various demographics and tastes.
