Evelyne Bertrand, the former head of Hermès riding department, designed the Hermès Evelyne bag in 1978. However, it did not join the Hermès leather collection until the mid aughts as the fashion house's entry-level bag.
The Hermès Evelyne has been redesigned over time, and has been released in three similarly-sized generations: I, II, and III.
The Hermès Evelyne Très Petit Modèle (TPM) is the smallest version of the Hermès Evelyne bags. It measures at approximately 6.5” W x 7” H x 2” D with a strap drop of 22.5”.
The Hermès Evelyne Petit Modèle (PM) is the next size up of the Evelyne bag, measuring 11” W x 11” H x 3” D with a strap drop of 21”.
The Hermès Evelyne Grand Modèle (GM) is the second-to-largest size of the Hermès Evelyne bag, with measurements of 12” W x 12” H x 3.5” D and an 18” strap drop.
The Hermès Evelyne Très Grand Modèle (TGM) is the largest of the Evelyne bags, measuring at 16” W x 15” H x 4” D with a 21” strap drop.
